today i found out that i have both tendonitis and turf toe. The doctor said i can't play hockey until it is fixed through physical therapy. Has anyone had these injuries and if so how long do it take you to recover.

I have tendonitis.
Go to Physical therapy and do everything they tell you times 2.
Stick to stationary bike or the elliptical machine.
Don't wear high heel shoes (kidding)
and NO RUNNING or skating for 6 weeks.
You will probably start feeling better in 3 weeks but continue.
STRETCH...STRETCH...STRETCH....
and
ICE... ICE.... ICE....
Physical therapy is a life saver!

What is Turf Toe? Not sure what that is?

PLEASE take care of the tendonitis because if you don't
it can turn ugly and surgury will be needed.

When you return to skating make sure your skates are good and supportive and
invest in Super Feet insoles

Just a question...when you guys say tendonitis, what tendon are you all talking about....

Oh and by the way, unless your injury is REALLY acute very, few injuries present as "tendonitis" anymore. If your health provider diagnoses you with "tendonitis" and tells you to just rest...run out of that clinic real fast.

There are many ways to treat tendinopathy, tendinosis, tenosynovitis, etc...find a good sport practitioner who'll take the time to explain each and treat you accordingly...

If youre in the TO area, feel free to ask. I'll be more than happy to recommend a few.

Sorry, I may sound like Im sweating the small stuff but when patients are paying big bucks for treatment, it really pisses me off when they dont get the attention they deserve..let alone get any better.
