detroit always seems to get the kids at the end of the draft who end up being stars, so us fans just gotta see which player they take becomes an all star,

Best I know of is that Colorado have Phoenix's 2nd rounder in the Morris deal.

I don't think any team wanted to trade away their first round pick with the uncertainty of how the positions in the 2005 draft would be alloted, and not to sound like a homer, but no one wants to give up the spot to draft Crosby if there is some sort of lottery.

Can't rule out an epic collapse either. It'd suck to be a playoffs team trade the pick and then drop like a brick to give Crosby to someone else.

Wehats this?

* 2nd rd pick traded to NYR will be either compensation pick (losing Leetch) or EDM's own pick
** conditional 3rd/4th pick in either 2004 or 2005 (my guess: 2005 3rd)

that was the pick the rangers got in the nedved deal, they used the pick to take dane byers. so it has no effect on the 2005 draft
