After seeing that Wikipedia page - the question should have been reversed -
How many NHL teams have more than one principal owner? - Four would be the answer.

Also interesting to note - a Canadian owns the Dallas Stars -
Dallas Stars Tom Gaglardi
[TBODY] [/TBODY]
and a German owns the San Jose Sharks -

I don’t think so. Rangers are owned bu MSG which is a publicly traded company, likewise Maple Leafs.

Lots of principle owners still don't hold 100%.

the original question is still legit.

holding companies doesnt mean multiple owners. All it does is separate the team from the owner legally and financially, so if the owner has finanical issues the team's assets are protected and vice versa.

Terry Pegula is sort of the single owner of The Sabres (and Bills.)

I think he goes overboard with letting his wife get acknowledged as the co-owner - though I suppose she is to some legal degree...

Nice people with good intentions.

Just lack the sports acumen they seem to think they possess.

Indeed, that list is pretty flawed. E.g. they list Larry Tannenbaum as "principal owner" of the Maple Leafs—and he is chairman of MLSE—but in fact he owns the smallest share. Similarly they list Murray Edwards as "principal owner" of the Flames—and he is chairman of CSEC—but there are several other partners and they have roughly equal shares.

Maple Leafs are not publicly traded.

Rogers and Bell are both publicly traded and are the two largest shareholders of MLSE entertainment. Larry Tanenbaum also owns 25% of the holding company.
