3-2 win for Finland goals by Koivula, Tuulola and Moilanen.

- Luukkonen was extremely solid in net. Two goals he allowed were impossible to save.

- Vaakanainen can really skate, was more active on the offensive end than last season.

- Salo, Kotkansalo and Välimäki all looked pretty solid, couple of mistakes here and there but it's summer..

- Niemeläinen looked slow, took a couple of stupid penalties. Needs to step up his game, playing in Liiga should be good for him.

- Defense should look a lot better with Heiskanen, Juolevi and Jokiharju, not too much offensive skill from the back end in this game.

- First line of Turkulainen-Kuokkanen-Koivula was our best line on the offensive end. Koivula scored with a nice wrist shot from the slot and was dangerous all game long, showed some hands and made some really nice passes on the offensive zone. Kuokkanen looked solid at center and Turkulainen showed that he belongs on this team.

- The second line with Ikonen, Räsänen and Nurmi didn't really work that well.

- Ikonen didn't have the puck on his stick much, he really needs
more skill(Vesalainen?) on his line to be effective. Tried to do all by himself. Might be better to play him at center than wing too.

- Nurmi was really good on the PK and made some really nice plays on the defensive end, should play on more of a defensive role rather than top 6. Also showed some skills on the offensive end in few shifts. Should be good option for the WJC team.

- Tuulola scored but the third line really didn't show any chemistry. Luostarinen looked pretty lost out there for a 2nd round pick. Innala has some offensive skills but his end product is lacking.

- The fourth line with Talvie-Koppanen-Moilanen looked really good all game long. Koppanen was good on the PK and faceoffs, Talvitie setup Moilanen for a nice goal and both were physical all game.

Turkulainen-Kuokkanen-Koivula
Vesalainen-Ikonen-Tolvanen
Heponiemi-Rasanen-Tuulola
Talvitie-Koppanen-Moilanen

Try this in the next game.

Tolvanen and Heponiemi are not on the roster for this tournament.

Lineup for today, at least Ikonen moved to center:

Jere Innala – Eetu Luostarinen – Samuli Ratinen
Markus Niemeläinen – Eemeli Rasanen

Niko Kuiri – Santeri Virtanen – Joona Ikonen
Tarmo Reunanen – Roni Allen

Linus Nyman – Joni Ikonen – Emil Oksanen
Niclas Almari – Kasper Kotkansalo

Aarne Talvitie – Otto Makinen – Sami Moilanen
Markus Nurmi

Lassi Lehtinen (Eetu Makiniemi)

No Yloen, Vesalainen or Heiskanen for either game, weird.

It seems Nyman, Oksanen and Makiniemi were brought in to replace Ylonen, Vesalainen and Annunen. Heiskanen, Jaaska and Laakso not in the line-up for either game.

Maybe Heiskanen has some minor injury or small dent and that's why he isn't playing.

4-3 win for Finland. Goals by Joona Ikonen(or somebody else, rebound went off somebody's helmet), Innala, Kotkansalo and Joni Ikonen with the GWG.

- Lehtinen was not very good. Could've saved all three goals. Tends to overplay and leave the top corners open because of his small size. Rather have Halonen or somebody else as #2.

- Kotkansalo was probably the best player. 1+1 was extremely solid on both ends of the ice. Big guy who can do it all, has improved his skating since leaving Finland. Looks like a future NHLer.

- Reunanen looked really good. Made some really nifty passes to open up the game from the defensive end and looked calm and poised on the powerplay. Played a big role on the PK, was tough in front of the net and was active breaking up passes with his stick. A bit unlucky turnover on the 3rd goal though. Hopefully he has a healthy season, kid has tons of potential.

- Rasanen is a beast on the physical size and has pretty good puck skills but his mobility backwards and first steps are brutal, took 2 totally unnecessary penalties. Very long term project.

- Niemelainen, Almari and Allen didn't stand out much, good game from all three though.

- Oksanen has gained some speed, looked fast and skilled with the puck, had some nice chemistry with Ikonen. Ikonen scored a nice goal and looked better at center than wing but tried to do way too much by himself.

- Not really good game from our forwards. Innala scored a nice goal on the PP and Makinen had some good shifts on the offensive end and played well on the PK as well. Moilanen was active as usual.

- Luostarinen.. Umm expected a lot more, didn't really have the puck on his stick at all.

- Kuiri and Virtanen can really skate for big guys.

7 or 8 natural centers is interesting, Ikonen ends up at wing, I think.

They havent learn anything from last year, they are more interested in to talk, talk talk.
Last year they dont do their job, insted they talk to the press of how bad the coach was.
The first game on small rink , Vaakanainen and Valimaki -6 together.

Keep in mind that fact Finland doesn't have Juolevi,Heiskanen,Tolvanen and Vesalainen in this tournament.
Practice games are practice games and those games won't have any value when puck drops world juniors in 26th December.
I'm not worried at all if / when one summer showcase hobby tournament goes wrong.

And what last year? i don't even remember anymore what the hell you talking about.:D
PS I don't live in past like you so i don't care piece of **** what happen last year. Have a nice day.

How has Talvite looked to you guys?

I'm not followed Finland's games in world juniors summer showcase.
Practice games are practice games for a reason so i don't give much value of those games.

Talvitie was very good in U18 world championships but lets see does he have chances to world juniors.
