Just for the heck of it....I'm curious to see how people would make out their projected 23-man roster for Team Canada 2010 in Vancouver.

Here's mine for starters....savage it at will, everyone!

Gagne-Crosby-Heatley
Nash-Thornton-Cheechoo
Bergeron-Staal-Iginla
Tanguay-Lecavalier-Cammalleri

(extra forward: Spezza)

Redden Regehr
Pronger Phaneuf
Hannan Bouwmeester

(extra defenceman: B. Stuart)

Luongo
Turco
M-A Fleury

Not really enough offence coming from the D...and looks weird putting Staal-Iginla-Bergeron as the checking line....but let's see who can do better....

I wouldn't rule out Fisher as the checking line center.

Jeez, most of those guys will be like 22-23 in 2010.

Of that list, i'm betting only Brad Richards and Brent Seabrook are on the team in 2010. Maybe Mike Richards, but there's a bit of a homer pick (Kitchener Rangers homer, not Flyers) in there.

Brad Richards WILL be there, unless he suffers a career threatening injury b4 then! Oh, and Spezza will not be an extra by then either. He will be playing on one of the top 2 lines.

Actually, they will all be 24+. Nash is 21, JBo 21, Spezza 22, Staal 20 so any of those listed could be on the team or taxi squad if they deserve it, regardless of their age at that time

Don't rule out Marty Brodeur if he's still at the same pace. They let Pat Roy go on at an older age too.

Well Cheechoo has choice to either play for USA or Canada.

I was watching a Sharks broadcast and the announcers were talking about how great it would be if Cheechoo would play for Team USA. They were disappointed because Cheechoo apparently wanted no part of that. :yo:

Whoever's doing well then

Look how Kariya completely fell off the map, or even Brewer in such a short time.

Boy, where does that lineup look familiar from? ;)

And by 2010, Crosby will be on the first line, and Spezza will be a lock for at least the second line.

lecavalier will NOT be a fourth line player (nevermind thirteenth forward) when he's 29 years old, four years from now.

i'm betting he's on the top two lines. heck, he'll be on the top two lines THIS year.

Spezza will be like Yzermen pretty much. One of the greatest players nonetheless but his postition on Team Canada was taken by two of the greatest players to play the Game, Gretzky and Lemeiux. I highly doubt Thorton won't be the top 2 lines. It would be between Spezza and Staal and since "supposedly" Staal has a better all around game, some people prefer Staal over Spezza. Of course i'm not 100% sure just my take on the situation. I'm pretty sure u can't stick Spezza on the 4th line. Maybe the third but at the expense of LeCavalier or Richards? I highly doubt it.

We could argue forever about who should and shouldn't be on the fourth lines because Canada's talent pool is so deep. No one belongs on the fourth line; everyone's too good.

All I know is that the 2010 Canadian Olympic team will be very, very good.

Scoop : Canada will have only 3 or even maybe 2 lines in 2010! :sarcasm:

No one will accept to be humiliated by playing on the 3rd or 4th lines!
