Three kids from Oakville! Anybody out there play against an Oakville rep team a few years back? They must have been awesome.

When I was ten, my family moved to Montreal. I played in the Lac St. Louis League, which was based on the Western part of the Island and suburbs around there. But back then everybody was buzzing about the the team from Ville Emard. Never played them, but I realized years later why they were so good.

They had three future first-rounders on their team: JJ Daignault, Marc Bergevin and some guy named Mario Lemieux. . .

Actually there are 4 Oakville residents on this team, Mason, Tavares, Legein and Gagner. Trevor Cann is also from Oakville. Oakville's minor hockey teams usually aren't very strong because most of the top end players from Oakville play in the GTHL. Of the 5 Oakville players I listed Mason and Legein played in Oakville before Legein left to play for the Toronto Red Wings in the GTHL. Cann played for the Mississauga Senators and Gagner and Tavares played together with the Toronto Marlies.

Where is Toews, Staal?

Are they only allowed to chose players playing in CHL? And I think Staal didn't want to or they didn't ask him.....?

What league does Guelph play in? I also played a year of 'AAA' for London, but as you can tell from my reference to Lemieux, I am so old that I never learned the trap!

Guelph plays in the OMHA (SCTA) with teams like Oakville, Brampton, Burlington, Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Welland, St. Catherines, Halton and Grey Bruce.

London plays in the Alliance with teams like Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Windsor and Brantford.

I wonder if Bernier will have a problem with Kings training camp with this tournament. I would believe the Kings training camp may start a little bit early since their first games are a little earlier due to their trip to London.

I have a feeling Russia is going to man handle this team of kids. I just realized Sheppard was left off the roster. Considering overall he is better then every forward on the roster at the moment its a simple crime.

Not only forgetting Sheppard is a huge mistake, but also forgetting Mathieu Perreault who was the Q MVP last season and is a very creative player in all 3 zones....
Guys like Perron and specially Esposito cannot change the course of a game like these two game breakers....

Now to have 13 from the West on a roster of 25 when we look at what have to offer the Q and the OHL this season is simply homeristic and very mind boggling to say the least....

Anyone else surprised that Stamkos didn't make it?

Yeah a little bit. I also thought Couture would be on there. Plus I am concerned about the lack of size with the forwards. It's not alarming and I'm assuming the games in Russia are on the big ice but still. Either way Canada should still win this. This team does not lack any skill whatsoever.

I'm an OHL guy and I would rather have Couture and Stamkos on my team then every OHL forward on the team except Tavares. Stamkos is better then Emmerton, Gagner and Legein and Couture is better then Emmerton and Legein and it depends what you're looking for in Gagner or Couture, Couture plays a steady two-way game and Gagner plays a great one-way game.

I disagree. I'm an OHL guy but if the Memorial Cup didn't show that they're pretty far ahead of us out west then I don't know what will. Our guys look better because they're playing against inferior competition each night. The boys out west are simply bigger, stronger and better. I thought the Whalers had a serious chance at the Cup because of how they manhandled the OHL but once they met Medicine Hat and Vancouver I was proven wrong.
