That's a pretty solid-looking group of forwards

I was expecting a couple of the 89's to get an invite, especially on defence. A little disappointing.

The only '89 player that should be on the squad is Oscar Möller, who is a forward. Mikael Backlund should probaly be there as well if he hadn't been playing injured (and crappy) since january...

I'm a bit bummed that Dennis Persson and Christoffer From-Björk was left off. And that Mattias Ritola probably will make the final cut.

Huh?!

The defense guys included on the team play against men on a regular basis. Specifically which 89's are you thinking of?

Any info on Linus Omark? Never heard of this guy before but already has 11 pts in the SEL:handclap: -- only behind Backstrom and Hornqvist for players selected. Looks pretty small though.

Why...is this a personal thing.......or is he not one of Sweden's best U20's ?? Not being confrontational, just asking cause I don't know.

Also, should a Red Wing fan be concerned that Dick Axelsson didn't get an invite, or is it not surprising, given their depth up front.

Personal? No, just me expressing myself in a clumsy manner I guess. I don't think he's good enough though. His play looks anemic and without drive. Though I should point out that I've only seen him a couple of times this year.

Axelsson hasn't been playing much so maybe thats not such a big surprise. No cause for alarm for Detroit fans though, he seems to score points in almost every game now, though at the 2nd tier level. He did look great in the SEL preseason (saw him twice) but he was not cleared to play in the SEL because of contractual issues. Next year he'll be there for sure.

Anyone know, will Gistedt be the clear-cut starter or...? Because if he has to fight for it, he might as well stay with Frölunda.

Curious about Anton Stralman....is he too old now? A few months back he was being compared to Lidstrom?

one of the young guys that czech coach Lener has given a lot of icetime this year, he and the other Luleåplayers on the team (Isaksson and Lindqvist) has really shown that they want to be on the roster, and they are there to stay

CSKA MoskWTF?
I can't wait to see Bergfors play!! He was so dominant last year after having played witn men in the AHL. Him and Backstom had more chemistry than anyone else in the entire tournament.:yo:

I'm overly delighted Swedish Television will show the games. Will be great to watch all young prospects play, especially Bäckström and Bergfors.

Ditto. Any word on the starting netminder?

I'm thinking Gistedt, but I'm biased. He's been very solid behind a (mostly) horrible Frölunda this year as a starter in the SEL.

Gistedt (SEL) 20 2.57 .908
Modig (SEL) 12 2.09 .932
Enroth (Allsvenskan) 16 1.55 .940
