Sedins, Steen, Loui, Lundqvist and Zetterberg is question marks due to age.

We really lack the previous superstars among forwards right now and the coming 2-3 years (at least). The Forsbergs, Sundins, Naslunds, Alfredssons etc.

I do have high hopes for Rakell, Nylander and Wennberg and a couple more youngsters - but even if they reach their ultimate potentials, they won't reach those hights..

Barring injuries, our top-4 defencemen will be disgustingly good though.

Btw, you forgot Hjalmarsson. :)

Who should he beat out? He is for sure not better than Ekholm, Lindholm, Oel, Karlsson, Hedman and Klingberg.

He is better than Klefbom right now, but i think Klefbom will be the better player in 2 years.

HM: Brodin and A.Larsson.

I bet guys like Zetterberg (if healthy) and the Sedins will still be relied upon in two years. We just don't have replacements for them that are good enough. Söderberg, Eriksson, Steen and Hjalmarsson won't be too old to make the team either. Hopefully the Nylander's pan out, we are pretty thin on young elite forwards.

In 2 years time not that much as happen. I kind of still count with Zetterberg and Sedins to be there, but that will then be their final tournament.

Many new young players can be there, but they could have been in wc as well. There are many young players I prefer over Kruger and Kronwall for a example today.

Forsberg - Bäckström - Rakell
Nylander - Zibanejad - Hagelin
Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Landeskog - Wennberg - Zetterberg
Söderberg - Silfverberg

HM: A Nylander, Rask, Steen, Lindholm, Bura, Johansson, Backlund, Nyquist

Lindholm - Karlsson
Hedman - Klingberg
Ekholm - OEL
Brodin - Edler

HM: Hjalmarsson, Strålman, Larsson, Andersson, Klefbom

Lundqvist
Lehner
Ullmark

HM: Enroth, Markström

The saddest thing is probably that we will never see Zetterberg again in the national team in this kind of tournament. Zetterberg missed both last olympics and world cup, this was probably his last chance. One of our absolutly best of all time, will be missed, hard to replace. When it comes to the sedins, it feel more like they have done their part more.

So how will Team Sweden look like without NHLers? We've had two players return to Europe in recent days in Anton Lander and Viktor Stålberg. I assume those two will be in contention for a spot.

Viktor Fasth will probably be the goalie.

On defence? Staffan Kronwall will probably get a spot. Erik Gustafsson, Henrik Tömmernes, Jonas Ahnelöv, Magnus Nygren and Niclas Burström will probably be in the discussion.

Up front, Joel Lundqvist will probably return as captain. Linus Omark and Linus Klasen have been mainstays at the EHT level, so they will probably be there. Perhaps some players that have "retired" from the national team, like Tony Mårtensson and Joakim Lindström, can be lured back by the Olympics?

Fasth is better than Henrik Karlsson/Jonas Gustavsson?

Nygren will not be on the team because of the racist-scandal.

Mårtensson is not good enough anymore, but yes probaly Lindström can be lured back.

Linus Omark - Anton Lander - André Petersson
Oscar Möller - Johan Sundström - Joakim Lindström
Linus Klasen - Johan Ryno - Fredrik Pettersson
Dennis Everberg - Mattias Sjögren - Viktor Stålberg

Staffan Kronwall - Patrik Hersley
Erik Gustafsson - David Rundblad
Jonas Junland - Jonas Ahnelöv

Henrik Karlsson/Jonas Gustavsson/Viktor Fasth

I think prominent and noble NHL teams will let important figures participate if they are ahead in the standings. Maybe an AHL player might slink in as well.

Oscar Möller - Henrik Zetterberg - Joakim Lindström
Dick Axelsson - Nicklas Bäckström - Alexander Nylander
Linus Omark - Anton Lander - Dennis Everberg
Viktor Stålberg - Joel Lundqvist - Oskar Lindblom
Johan Sundström - Elias Pettersson

Staffan Kronwall - Erik Karlsson
Sebastian Aho - David Rundblad
Jonas Junland - Jonas Ahnelöv
Erik Gustafsson - Simon Bertilsson

Henry Lumquest
Jonas Gustavsson
Jhonas Enroth

If no nhl players participate, do you think Elias Pettersson will get a shot? Assuming he does well in his half season in SHL

There is a thread but its with NHL-players in the rosters, this is the offcial thread now (no NHL-players).

Linus Omark - Anton Lander - André Petersson
Oscar Möller - Johan Sundström - Joakim Lindström
Linus Klasen - Johan Ryno - Fredrik Pettersson
Dennis Everberg - Mattias Sjögren - Viktor Stålberg (BIG line)

Staffan Kronwall - Patrik Hersley
David Rundblad - Jonas Ahnelöv
Jonas Junland - Erik Gustafsson

Goalies i have no idea, so many to choose from.

PLEASE, no Joel Lundqvist he is way too slow. No way Lundqvist brings more than Sjögren, Ryno.
