Stars signed Vadim Khomitski earlier today. 6'2 185 lb stay at home dman. Played in the Russian Super League the last several seasons and played regularly for Team Russia. Projects as a solid #5/#6

This is really a bit of a surprise. Most thought the Stars would have trouble bringing him over.

I guess a trade should be happening soon concerning one of Dallas's OTHER 8 defensemen who are already signed....

IS this an AHL Depth Signing, Or Could he get a legit shot with Dallas?

He'll definitely have a legit shot with the Stars team.

They gave him a 150k bonus and the right to go back if not in Dallas by dec 15. I say they expect him in Dallas by then.

I don't think the RFA Trevor Daley's been signed yet.....I wonder what the holdup is... :dunno:

Somebody's gotta go, though, especially now that Khomitski's going to be in Dallas for sure.

This was a very good pick up and at the right time. Khomitsky really made a name for himself in Russia and got national team accolades. He comes across as a competitive kid who would enjoy the NHL and not really money oriented. I am glad the Stars kept an eye on him. I've been a fan of his for years, as indicated by his review on RP.
