Dallas, TX ~ When Stars management aquired Jordi Kleijs and Laurens Thie, it became obvious that this franchise would face the options of rebuilding or competing now. And after dealing stud blueliner Adrian Aucoin and contributing winger Vladimir Orzagh for two prospects and picks, the choice became obvious. The Stars quickly found themselves at the bottom of the Western Conference with a horrendous .200 winning-percentage.

Jordi decided something needed to be done. He accepted losing as it’s part of the rebuilding proces, but he never expected it to turn out this bad. Losing 9 straight was the last straw. He quikcly asked his co-GM/Coach in Laurens Thie to drop the pina colada's and the hot chicks and immidiately head home from his vacation at the Bahama’s, to start assisting the team.

Laurens got on the plane and was in Jordi’s office 1 day later. After discussing future plans on how to improve the current team as well as increasing their future, the Stars signed a few relatively unknown prospects that paid to be the dividends. The Stars won 3 straight and have now won 6 of their last 10 under Laurens' new coaching regime. They are currently riding a league high 5 game winning streak, beating a bunch of serious contenders, while nearly outshooting them all in ridiculous fashion.

Netminder Miika Kiprussof appears to be the reason behind their sudden surge, going 5-1-0 with a 2.36 GAA and .907 Save-percentage. “The hockey Gods are with us the last few days, but yeah it does changes the teams goals a little. We won’t try to dump our older players anymore, though they are available, the price has no gone up as we no longer have the rush to trade them†Said GM Jordi when asked if the sudden turn around had any effect on the team’s outlook this season. “We shall remain realistic though, I mean its nice for a team in the situation like ours to ride a league high winning streak, but you can’t expect Kipper to perform like this forever. I am not saying that we have no chance at the Cup whatsoever, because there’s a suprise team every year, but we will do everything to make the postseason. Even if it means aquiring some missing pieces if the team still plays as well as they are now prior to the trade deadline.â€

The Stars face the NY Rangers tonight, winning that one would mean their longest winning streak in nearly a year. “Don’t jinx us†kidded Laurens. “We’ll lose. We’ve said that in each of the last 5 gams and look where it has brought usâ€..
