Shaw initiated the contact, but this dude plays a style his body and frame just isn't suitable for at all. We knew that back in his Chicago days. As someone mentioned, he WAS damaged goods coming over here and his style was going to lead him to a Mike Richards like decline (less steep, of course, because Shaw was never even half the player Mike Richards was in his prime) where the style of play caught up to him before age would have naturally led to his decline.

I've maintained from the first season he was here, that Shaw is not suited for the style of game he plays. He's an featherweight in a game of heavy hitters. Several concussions later, he won't adapt his playing style to an obvious reality -- maybe this is the only way he knows how to play and if that's the case, you don't give out a long-term deal to a player who is a danger to himself and will be spending more and more time rehabbing.

Somewhere, Shaw's future health might be compromised. Several concussions now since last year. What's the count, 4 with tonight's hit which is was a helmet to helmet shot?

That being said, if he doesn't play Gallagher-style, he's not only Shawful (™ @WeThreeKings) but useless

Lol now I know why Klingberg isn’t really a frontrunner for the Norris despite the points. He’s f***ing brutal.
