So where do we slot Backy?

Still think best option is to slot him in on the 4th line and have Beagle take his faceoffs, so long as the 3rd line holds up (which it may not given how young/streaky the players there are).

DSP-Backstrom-Beagle could be a shut down line for the ages

I am not a fan of sitting him out until we lose... momentum in a series is a funny thing.. dont want to take chances with it. He is an elite 2way center in this league... you play him the second he is not at risk of reinjuring it or hurting the team by not being 100%... the good play means you dont have to rush him.. not that you dont play him when he is better.

I wonder how mad people are gonna be if Trotz sits Vrana down for Backstrom. :sarcasm:

As stated after the Pens game:

8-92-43
18-19-65
13-20-77
25/39-83-10

Not caring about ice time per say ES. Should be even as much as possible, certainly for that top 9

I'm only a part-time Caps fan, so I wouldn't know, but has Burakovsky played his off wing before? If so, I agree, that looks perfect.

Sitting Vrana before Burakovsky at this point would be asinine.

I’d be pretty surprised if Trotz broke up either of 8-92-43, or 13-20-77.

There’s plenty of talent left to drop 19 somewhere with the remaining players. It will either be with 10 or 65 on his right, and 18 on his left. I’m assuming Trotz will just slide 18 over, drop 19 at that C spot, and add 10/65. Maybe even sit 65.

25-83-39 will remain the 4th line. IMO

Agreed. I'd sit 65. Connolly brings a goal-scoring lack of hesitation to shoot that could complement those other two pass-first guys well. Late in games if they're in need of a shutdown line then swap Beagle or DSP in over Connolly depending on whether Vrana would also be sat situationally.

Hell, I'd be tempted to sit Bura BEFORE Backstrom returns.

He needs to start scoring in order to justify a spot, as someone said earlier. He adds nothing otherwise and is a net negative with his turnover potential.

One more game for Bura with a complimentary center. If we do sit Bura

Yes I am assuming Nick is back. He took some shots at practice, and we lost.
