XM only got this deal like 2 weeks before the start of the season. They need to put together a channel and hire a crew and hire credible personalities, if they're even allowed to do it while sirius still has the rights

Is Sirius struggling so bad that you have to continue to sell it on here? Just like a few months ago when you were on here selling Sirius, you're misleading everyone.

Do you even know why XM is only offering 80 channels to Canada??? It all came down to the Canadian government and their restrictions on satellite radio. Unlike the governments restrictions on broadcast radio (35% must be Canadian content/artists), they agreed to allow the satellite radio companies to only have 10% of their lineup dedicated to Canadian channels. So, if XM wanted to broadcast all 150+ channels that they get in the states, they would have to add 15-17 Canadian produced channels...which would not happen at this time due to lack of bandwidth. Sirius Canada just appointed their CEO...they have yet to even announce their channel offerings for Canada.

On this "hockey talk" board, all we should care about is that XM has a ten year contract with the NHL, eight of those years are exclusive, and Sirius will be losing the NHL altogether in 2 years. XM plans to offer a 24/7 NHL talk channel sometime this fall. The last thread was closed due to excessive advertising of a product that will eventually lose hockey, this one is headed down that path as well.

I remember before the lockout it was simulcast on nhl.com. why wasn't it like this from the start this time, and what is taking so long?

They never really mentioned the reasons why on the show.

They mentioned on NHL Live this morning that they were now streaming the show on NHL.com. So those of you without access to Sirius can listen to the show. Personally, I think two hours is not enough time to talk hockey. I need at least 3-4 hours of it....
