So, can we talk about Lundqvist some more?

Very impressive playoff performance and exceptional play all season long in a league with the likes of Jose Theodore, Pasi Nurminen, Miikka Kiprusoff and Martin Gerber to name a few. Lundqvist was the top goaltender and I can't wait to see how he fairs in the World Championships and with Hartford next season.

Here's the man behind the mask, btw.

Lundqvist is a beast...with his calm style he plays he is sure to make the adjustment onto a NA rink in no time.

Much better numbers then Tellqvist put up. And Hendrik had more competition all season and playoffs with the NHLers in the league.

It should also be said Lundqvist plays for a great team, that have dominated both in the regular and post season.

However, the team plays really offensive, no Devils-trap hockey, so Lundqvist have face a lot of quality shots during the season, and have in my eyes been one of the reasons the team have been able to play that offensive hockey.

Lundqvist has the potential to become the best swedish goaltender ever, and certainly our best goalie prospect in many many years. His dominence in the SEL playoffs is proof that he also got nerves of steel. SEL has been a league with a very high level of play this season with all the NHL players.

Yep, he was Henrik's mentor for a season.

More interesting is that Joel Lundqvist of Frölundas, is indeed Henrik's twin brother, who is drafted by the stars.

Henrik makes me scared of the swedish team at the world champs, no matter who they put in front of him.

His stats from last years World Championships were pretty good too, as this was his first big international tournament as the starter (not counting the smaller tournaments such as the Baltica Cup or the Sweden Hockey Games):

8GP - 1.64 GAA - .9249 save% - 1 shutout

Will be interesting to see how he'll do in this year's tournament, seeing how Sweden has a relatively weak team this year.

He's ALOT better this year... Especially when it comes to key games... So, no matter who sweden put in front of him... they should place no further down than third.

Will be interesting to see him in North America. There is no such thing as a surefire future star, but this guy has pretty much every tool a great goalie needs. Hope he is able to succeed at the next level.

So will both Lundqvist and Montoya be in Hartford next year? That should be an interesting battle to follow.

dunno, lundqvist most likely will be. he hasn't comitted for sure but there have been a lot of indications that the rangers want him over and he is willing to come over

montoya may stay in college another year, who knows, he hasn't made that decision yet

there's a good possibility that lundqvist won't stay in the AHL long either

Having a jr guy on the same team as Lundqvist would be unfair and really hindering the jr guys game from developing, since he wouldn't get a chance to play.

Montoya would see about the same amount of starts that he'd see in the NCAA.
