I mean, the idea I've generally received in the past is that part of what makes this team so good (relatively) is that since they have so few nationally competitive players they benefit from having lots of experience of playing as a team.(basically same guys every national tourney) This makes them more likely to hit the ground running in international tournaments. Does anyone know if this is still the case with this team? For example has Razingar been replaced by another close-ish caliber regular or is it really over and the talent drop-off in replacements has begun.

On a side note, it doesn't seem to be completely over as there are some OK players coming through the system like Drozg. Hopefully he makes at least more of himself than Mursak.

What annoys me the most is the inconsistency of the goalies, (I don't see them play, just based on looking at their stats from year to year, so I could be wrong).

They are still fine albeit their KHLers all had seasons varying from pretty bad to terrible. The trouble will start when those '88-'89 guys start retiring.

Also I think Slovenia should be thrilled if Drozg becomes as much as Mursak. "More than Mursak" means what, an NHL scorer? Not a lot of chances there. He is also very lonely as far as decent prospects go.

unfortunately I have to agree, hopefully Slovenia will at least keep D1A status. Last few years were great though.

Interesting, only Sweden has gone with 9+13.

Disagree with Pavlin vs. Stebih but they might know something I don't. Don't comprehend in the least bit no Pretnar, he was their top line Dman at the WC and led the D in the OGQ too. Not a very impressive player perhaps but the best they have.

Drozg probably should have been on the roster. Playing in some leagues is no better than playing children.

My ideal tournament would've had Slovakia losing to Russia and beating the USA. That wouldve given Slovenija their best chance at surprising each team.
