It's pronounced kind of like "sim-yon" yeah. But like I said, pronunciation has never really mattered when it comes to spelling names in North America, nor should it. Like has already been said, the reason the Capitals are spelling it that way is to be politically correct, I guess.

Indeed, but regardless, it seems everyone already has it at Semen and it's pretty hard to change all those articles and whatnot, so I don't really see it changing anytime soon.

even being a Leafs fan I think the Habs made a good pick getting Maxwell
especially if he buckels up and grows a few inches, if he become a 6'3 to 6'5, 200 to 215 pound player( his brother is a 6'8 basket-ball player), with the talent and speed he has he can become something big for us, or atleast i'm hoping

You guys actually follow enough hockey to be able to answer such a question...

I mean, even an nhl scout would have trouble answering who's the steal in the 7th round

As soon as we get in the second round, i'm pretty much lost

I mean, how many games of junior hockey you guys listen to a year exactly, and what kind of crazy satellite system you have to be able to watch them all

Less than the NHL, that how many games we watch. What you say could be applied to any post reflecting opinions.
If one watches Midget AAA games can they give an opinion:dunno: .

Did you stub your toe on the foot of your bed this morning :dunno: .

I'd love to read that answer too. The only thing I know about this guy is Timmins hope he's gonna be an Emelin clone and our russian scout thought we should pick him as early as second round.

He's picked by a bunch of people as a steal in this thread; anybody who's seen this guy play, please give us a little inside ?:help:

1) Trevor Lewis, HM Michael Grabner
-Lewis is gonna be an excellent player IMO, I was hoping against hope that he would fall to the Isles.

2) Yuri Alexandrov, HM Ben Maxwell
-I would've chosen Maxwell but he's been picked by just about everybody in this thread so he's not much of a sleeper apparently. Alexandrov would've been a first rounder IMO if there weren't transfer issues--they limited the scouting on him.

3) Kevin Quick, HM Aaron Snow
-Like Maxwell, Snow isn't apparently much of a sleeper around these parts. Quick has a lot of potential to be a difference maker IMO.

4) Rhett Rakhshani, HM Ben Shutron
-I know I wasn't supposed to pick a player from my team, but I think that Rakhshani is one of the great sleepers in the NHL, let alone round four of this year's draft.

5) Robert Nyholm, HM Alex Biega
-Nyholm is a power forward trapped in Jason Blake's body. He plays with power though and is going to be a tough NHLer.

6) Jan-Mikael Juutilainen, HM Eric Hunter
-Juutilainen is a pretty safe bet to make the NHL in some capacity IMO, which is not bad for the 6th round.

7) Billy Sauer, HM Andrei Popov
-Sauer will be the best goalie from this class, mark my words.

steal of draft will be Kaspars Daugavins.

Has to be. In his first 2 preseason games in the OHL Daugavins scored 5 points (3+2), helping his team St. Michael’s Majors tie the game against Erie Otters (4:4) and win Peterborough Petes (5:4).

Not a bad start, will see how he performs over the course of the season.
