Should McDavid had pulled a Lindros?

For those of you who are too young to remember, Eric Lindros was was a first round draft who firmly stated that, as Quebec Nordiques (remember them?) had the first pick, that he wouldn't sign with them. Quebec chose him anyway and the rest is history.

So....McDavid could see the dumpster fire that is Edmonton.....should he have held out for a better team?

It is so painful to watch Edmonton screw up another young and talented hockey player.

Maybe, but what does this have to do with Calgary fans?

It sucks for a team of any franchise to lose out on a potential elite prospect. I don't really wish that on any team, even if it is a rival. Furthermore, especially in a cap world, it may be a better idea to build your team around depth over cap-eating superstardom so had your hypothetical scenario happened, the Oilers might even be *shudder* successful right about now.
