What about Sartre? Or does his anti-religion perspective push you away from him?

~Crazed.

Hi Crazed.
About Sartrre - he is ok. He has good ideas but they are spread rather thinly throughout his works because he just wrote a lot.
I like Camus a little better than him though.

About Kierkegaard - very hard reading, but if spent about 10 minutes per page :) you can hear him speak to you and his life-long nastalgia comes through - that freakin guy is unbelievable. I mean he is really something else I think

...meaning you get home at midnight for night games. Icky when one has to work or go to school in the morning. Even worse, my sis's fiance works down here in SJ, so he comes down, goes to a game, and then gets home at midnight only to come down again at 5 to get to work by 8. Poor guy!

~Crazed.

I try to only go to games on Fridays or Saterdays('bout 4 a season, not counting playoffs).

yeah, I had a long commute to the tank for a couple years while I was attending Sonoma State (near Santa Rosa/Petaluma in Sonoma county). Brutal drive, especially going through the city (yet that was still faster than trying to go down via the East Bay).

Does the Bible account for your use of the word "corban?" (An old Jewish word that meant that something was of religious value and hence couldn't be lived without...obviously led to some abuses of the word.)

yup. Biblically the term was used to designate a gift devoted unto God. and yes, it has been used in negative ways, but i take use it in a positive light.

Favorite hockey moment: I'll say this is tough but My favorite Hockey/ sports moment was the 1980 USSR/USA. I see alot of people here probably too young to remember but this game, that team and that time it was easily the biggest upset of all time IMO. that "USA, USA, USA!" chant started at lake placid. I was just 11 but I totaly remember how everyone expected the new plucky USA to to fold to the russian team, and back then the games were about US Vs Them, you grew up hating the USSR teams because they were basicly pros. I see that game on ESPN Classic and I still get chill. BTW the gold medal winner was a nailbiter, they had to come back from a tough Finnish team to capture the gold

I have a new favorite moment in sports, 2 of them actually.

Both happened this weekend and if you saw/heard them, you know :joker:

1. Joe, on ESPN, at the Jets game being interviewed....
Joe "I want to kiss you...."

Reporter "Thanks Joe"

Joe "YYEEAAHHHH!!!!"

Freaking awesome, love ya Joe.

2. Color man for New Orleans. The PAT attempt, he missed...

I was rolling on the floor. I heard the replays all over the radio today on KNBR 680 and I almost wrecked on my way home....I am laughing right now...that was priceless.

"Why did he do that....." :joker: :rolly: :joker: :rolly:

At least Modestofan knows something about movies :)

All of you others, go and rent the movie. Your world won't be the same ever again.

Just bought the Requiem for a Dream DVD, too. A great movie. Been thinking of buying the Alien Quadrilogy, too, but It's quite expensive...
