Sharks almost reach playoffs in last season, but was left out. team management felt disappointment and that something need to be done.. and sonething was done.

Giroux was traded to sharks with shea theodore in a trade which saw trouba, sutter and 2018 1st rd pick heading to other direction.
Giroux is a good playmaker and with patrick Eaves can be a lethal duo in a coming season.
New captain. Matt duchene.
Was part of the bigger trade with Philly. Duchene experience and versatility is something team needs after shane doan left. He can play in many roles; short handed, powerplay, center and wing.
Those were the two key additiontions.
Sharks signed also free agent alex burrows and prospect Anthony Mantha is ready to step into lineup as well, so team is pretty much set.
