Burgess is getting underrated.

Putting up 95P in 60GP in a low scoring league like the NAHL is really impressive no matter what age. That's the most points anyone has produced in that league in a decade (since Patrick Maroon put up 95P in 2006/07). There's been a couple guys that have come close to 95P, but most of them were tiny. Burgess is 6'2.

He may have been a reach in the 4th round, but he could still be a player. Can't really say the same for the rest of the guys in this poll.

He did it mostly playing against Alaskan teams which are historically weak.

Didn't have much hope from a double overaged guy drafted out of an area where we have been absolutely terrible (hence the restructuring of our scouting pool after the 2016 draft) at the draft, and I am even less optimistic after he has missed a full developmental season at 20, and will now begin his 1st NCAA season as a 21 year old.

Prove me wrong Todd, please.

Can't subtract production against weak teams for Burgess without doing the same for other NAHL top scorers.

His production is impressive, even if some of it was put up against weak competition.

I consider the pick as basically getting a leg up on signing a guy who's likely to be a sought after FA in 4YRs (now 3YRs).

Burgess could be a player one day, but that's not a gamble worth taking in the 4th round.

But that's not what happened. To save on travel costs in the USHL they play an unbalanced schedule so the Alaskan teams play each other a great deal.

I wish I could find the article where someone did a breakdown of his production. It was obvious how big of an impact it had.

I'll keep searching and send it to you when I find it, interesting stuff.
