Why would an injury, we literally know nothing about, have us drawing conclusions that Brown isn't taking "necessary precautions", by wearing more protective gloves/wrist guards of all things.
It's hockey, injuries happen.
When we have recurring injuries in the same general area, you have to wonder. We know that a lot of guys (mostly playmakers) love those really short cuffs...but it definitely exposes them to slashing injuries. Even if equipment modification doesn't outright prevent an injury, it could lessen the severity of it.
The last thing I want to see is a kid have his career derailed from a (potentially) preventable injury. (Of course, it would also help a lot if refs would actually call all those nasty lumberjack slashes we see nearly every game but that's another story altogether.)
