hmm..... maybe Chara, Spezza for Yashin?

maybe not SO lopsided, but John Leclair, Eric Desjardins and Gilbert Dionne for Mark Recchi and a 3rd

one interesting was Mikka Kiprusoff from San Jose to Calgary for a 2nd.... ended out being Vlasic.

Ryan Smyth for two former 1st round prospects (Robert Nilsson and Ryan O'Marra) and a 1st round pick (Alex Plante).

Nilsson had three mediocre seasons in Edmonton before heading to Europe, O'Marra 33 career NHL games, while Plante had 10.

Smyth would leave as a free agent but Edmonton ended up with three duds.

Mogilny + to Vancouver for Mike Peca, Jay McKee + to Buffalo

At the time, it was very lopsided in favour of Vancouver, especially after Mogilny's 55 goal season. Then Mogilny faded, Peca became a Selke winner and Jay McKee a very, solid and reliable defenseman.

Not lopsidedly bad for San Jose, but the Heatley trade ended up being a lot better for the Sens than what was first thought. Michalek had a lot of longevity and had some good years in Ottawa while Heatley obviously didn’t work out in San Jose.

Does the Fedorov to Columbus deal qualify? Looked like a cap dump by Anaheim at the time, but then Beauchemin turned out to be huge contributor as Fedorov's star faded.

That's a great example. At the time, most of us were still getting used to the notion of cap space being a commodity so Fedorov for Todd Marchant and some minor league D seemed like a lopsided deal in terms of talent.

Ryan Callahan + 2 1st round picks for Marty St. Louis.

The Bolts traded both picks to the Islanders and as far as I know, only one player is semi-notable. The Rangers avoided giving Callahan a massive contract that we knew we would regret.

This isn't correct at all. Both teams went to the finals but lost with each of the main pieces, St. Louis and Callahan. Tampa received two 1sts from New York while New York got a 2nd from Tampa. Tampa did eventually trade both of those picks to the Islanders but one of the picks they received is Cirelli who's their 3C right now in the playoffs and they have two good prospects waiting in the wings. Callahan is also contributing but is overpaid but the contract isn't hurting us. New York used the 2nd in the Yandle deal but never won the cup. Tampa won this big time as they got more current production from it and look to have a ton of future production.

The picks became Ho-Sang and Beauvillier. Both notable. Ho-Sang is a top prospect, and Beauvillier scored 21 goals this year

Okay. A ton of future production? Its a 3C. My point is, its hardly the super lopsided trade it was originally made out to be. Not to mention, Tampa is stuck with Callahans albatross. In the end, it was a lot closer than it originally appeared to be.

Nah, Rangers got hosed bad. Giving two 1sts for a player who would only agree to wave his NTC for the Rangers anyways is way too much.

In terms of the bolts:

Islanders traded two 2014 second round picks (#35-Dominik Masin) (#57-Johnathan MacLeod) to Lightning for 2014 first round pick (#28-Joshua Ho-Sang) on 2014-06-27

Islanders traded 2015 second round pick (#33-Mitchell Stephens), 2015 third round pick (#72-Anthony Cirelli) to Lightning for 2015 first round pick (#28-Anthony Beauvillier) on 2015-06-26

That 2014 didn't work out that great but the 2015 one seems to be paying off already

Yes, Cirelli is already a promising looking 3C. Mitchell Stephens was an AHL all star this year and has middle 6 potential. Dominik Masin helped us to the Calder cup finals last year and might again this year, he should be a good third pair defender who maybe becomes a mid pairing one. Even if only 1 of them pan out it's still a win, St. Louis didn't play much longer after the trade, they got a cup run just like we did. Callahan is still useful as we go for another cup run while St. Louis is retired so we are still winning, his contract isn't great but not really hurting us so it doesn't matter. We clearly won and if the 3 kids hit their potential it'll be massively one sided.
