Didn't see any of the game but what's up with the shots against in the 2nd and 3rd periods? Did the team just quit after being up 3-0 after the 1st?
Took back to back 4 minute high sticking penalties to start the 2nd and it changed the momentum

London is actually pretty much our equal in terms of raw talent. They just make “young” mistakes and don’t convert the same percentage of opportunities as us.
Also, as I posted back in Dec Raaymakers has a history of playing very poorly against us

Shots against in the second we’re due to penalties, third was London trying extra hard to tie the game

A Guelph win in Erie tonight will solidify a Sarnia vs Guelph 1st round match up or if Saginaw and Windsor both lose in regulation.

Heading into the playoffs how much of a concern is the Stings 5-4-0-1 record in the last 10 games? Aside from the OS blow out where we sat out the majority of our top guys for the last game of the season, the Sting had won 3 straight before that including a win in London, a big home win vs Kitchener and a low scoring 1 goal home win over Guelph. The PP has been on a slow decline that sits 5th in the OHL, but the PK has stayed at #1 all year long basically.

Is this team actually ready? were they sitting back the last few weeks?

I’m picking the Sting in 7 based on the DiPietro factor. So long as they pull through, I think some adversity in the 1st round will serve them well going forward.

Not overly worried about the recent 5-4-0-1.
Our record vs Windsor was 5-1 over the regular season (the loss was when Kyrou & Ruzicka away at world jrs). By the way, team record with Kyrou not in lineup is 3 wins, 7 losses, including Owen Sound giveaway. So if I have a “worry” at all, it would be if something happens to 25.
Teams also shut us down when they jam up the slot area in their own end. I trust Hatcher, Legwand, et al will be developing a solution to that. With their nhl experience, i’m sure they can do that.

Best path to advancement is rest. If Windsor takes them to 7, they will have a very tough time in 2nd round

I look at the year Owen Sound won it all. Losing a couple of games to the Knights in the first round must have put a scare into that Attack team, but they were much better for it than would have been had they just steamrolled some team in 4 straight games.

The Sting are going to face some form of adversity over the course of the playoffs. I hope it comes early when there is time to regroup and reassess as opposed to later in the playoffs when it might be too late.

Edit: I also have the Storm taking the Rangers to 7 games, so no rest advantage for either team.

It's always bothered me that so many people in Canada care about the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament but the average person seems to know a lot less about the (far superior) CHL Playoffs and Memorial Cup (obviously this is because of the dramatic single-elimination bracket format of March Madness and all the media attention it gets). I've always thought it would be fun though to fill out some sort of CHL playoff bracket but since I've never really found a good way to do it online, I decided to try creating my own for this year. Although it's a bit complicated and not the most user-friendly, there's step-by-step instructions on the website that should help. So if want to give it a try go to: memorialcupbracket.weebly.com

What's the ticket situation for Saturday? Thinking of going to the game since I will be in the area.
Sting website has nice online ordering system for single game tickets. Seats on the left are at the Sting-shoot- twice end of the rink. Quite a few tickets available at this point. You can choose seats be hitting the green tab and selecting as many seats as you wish.
Hope you have a good time!

You will be fine if you order online or call the box office in the next two days. I imagine by Friday it will become harder to acquire tickets.

Hearing that the Sting will send at least 1 fan bus down to Windsor for both games 3 and 4.

Final point production totals for the regular season. Any standouts or disappointments you weren't expecting? Ernst 27 goals has been a bit of a surprise, I wasn't expecting that many from him, even more impressive coming from the 3rd/4th line. I was expecting a little more from Josling and Mcgregor as far as point production but they have morphed into defensive roles often playing against other top lines.

9 players with 20+ goals with Hugo on the bubble at 19. Cant argue with the depth this team posses. Here's hoping that depth comes into play in a 7 game series. This team has the pieces in place to go for a run, but does the curse of Sting playoffs continue? Anything short of a western conference final will be a disappointment imo.
