If he ends up staying and he doesn't get traded before his contract ends, its almost guaranteed he's not resigning after all this...

Let's be honest... there is no official report stating that Duchne wants out.

We just find he is a young C that might be a good fit on some teams..

Doesn't mean Sakic has to trade him for trash....

Who would? Your boss/childhood hero is a fool, your favourite team as a kid is a joke and it's not his fault. The team is better when he's on the ice according to corsi & fenwick numbers. He's got positive PS, so he definitely is a desirable player. No way will he sign an extension after this. Maybe Cirque du Soleil's next theme should be the Colorado Avalanche. What a complete clown show.

I remember when Columbus fans were in denial that Jeff Carter wanted out, not saying Duchene is Jeff Carter but best believe Duchene isnt resigning after this.

You remember what he said at the deadline? I'm pretty sure he'd welcome a change.

Sakic is only playing the game the same way Bryan Murray did when he traded Spezza.

At first he wanted to see what was out there for Spezza, then he looked at offers for a while, then came out publicly and said they may just keep Spezza if the return isn't good. A couple days later he traded Spezza for scraps and told the media Spezza had asked for a trade. I really would not be surprised one bit that Duchene asked for a trade. There's no point for Duchene to make it public as it would likely lessen the return for Sakic and at the same time would reduce his chances of moving on ....

It's not just that we think he might generate interest from other teams.... there's serious smoke here.

Why are people saying Duchene won't re-sign like it's a big shock or concern for Colorado or their fans?

Sakic doesn't need to trade him unless he gets what he wants. That's up to him, not us.
