Sabres potentially looking to shake things up due to likely arrivals

While a handful of teams continue on their march for Lord Stanley's Cup, the Buffalo Sabres have started to look at next season a little earlier than hoped. On the teams wish lists are a top 2 defenseman, an elite young forward and a solid backup goalie, plus moving up in the draft would not be sneezed at. With the likely arrival of Travis Zajac, Kris Beech and Boyd Gordon up front, and Ryan Suter and Ron Hainsey to a blueline that already goes 7 deep, there are a few more players than needed. Potential names involved in trades are not to be taken lightly. The list of candidates includes...

Jaromir Jagr, Patrick Marleau, Daniel Briere, Olli Jokinen, Scott Hannan, Willie Mitchell, Lukas Krajicek, Brooks Orpik and Richard Jackman.

The Sabres are in no rush to deal anyone, as the team is able to be held intact for at least the next 12 months, nor are more than a couple likely to be moved (this is no firesale, merely a re-tuning, but you need to give up quality to get quality!) but it gives those looking at adding something major a chance to take a swing at some marquee names.
