After rolling the leafs in last nights game, the Sabres have moved to 11-3-3 in their last 17 games for a whopping 25 points. To make things brighter for opposing teams, GM Joshua Pitt went out and acquired center Olli Jokinen from the LA Kings. expected to be slotted on the top line right next to Rick Nash, the coaching staff instead chose to play him on the 3rd and 4th lines, using him in a checking/2way role.

"He's solid defensively, and he compliments the likes of Vasicek and Ruutu nicely. Playing him next to Ruutu might just be the best thing that could happen for Tuomu. Our top lines are playing so well right now that we were actually a little scared to bring in a talent of his calibre for fear of the chemistry being broken up, but when Olli arrived he understood the situation and accepted his role. Having him around really gives us 3 good lines we can roll out there at any time." said Pitt.

The verdict? 3 wins in 3 games since his arrival, including the scalp of the #1 team out west, the Blackhawks. Jokinen's contribution so far? 1 goal, 1 assist and a +2 rating. "He's doing everything we've hoped he would do when he arrived. It could be exactly what we need to get us ready for another tough stretch of good teams just around the corner.

Next on the hit list for the Sabres? The Nashville Predators. Jokinen and co. should be fun to watch!

Thats all.....for now
