btw, I've read that Yeryomenko should've been on the roster too, but also wasn't invited by the IOC.

So the main question now is if Znarok wants to stay or not. If not, apparently it will be Ilya Vorobyov, hard to tell if that's an improvement or not though.

There might be some benefit in keeping the team and coaches together through the WC. It was very ugly, but Znarok did get the job done.

Let's just say he lucked out that Marjamäki was such a shitty coach for Team Finland. With Jukka jalonen, it would have been another matter.

Thoughts? Of course, thats assuming a bunch of teams get to round two and certain teams don't.

World Championship roster

Kovalchuk-Datsyuk-Kucherov
Radulov-Namestnikov-Tarasenko
Gusev-Shipachyov-Dadonov
Mozyakin-Grigorenko-Kaprizov
Kulemin

Provorov-Zaitsev
Zadorov-Voynov
Tryamkin-Nesterov
Yakovlev

Vasilevskiy
Shestyorkin
Sorokin
Kovalchuk confirmed he'd come if called upon. And it's an if. Datsyuk has not declined, but made it clear he rather sees the youth movement take over.

Tarasenko is injured for now. No word yet on the severity.

Radulov vs. Znarok is an old tale...

Kulemin after missing that much shouldn't be a candidate.

If you put Kucherov there(and it is a possibility the way Tampa fell apart in the final stage of the regular season) then Sergachyov is obviously there too.

The BIG rumor mill is about Znarok. If he is out somehow it might get interesting.

Good for Mamin, I am not sure how much future in the NHL he is got, but he tries really hard, always been fond of him as a player.

Mamin has good qualities for NA hockey, but I assumed Alexander Sharov would burst onto the scene before him.

Holy overreaction. Even the list of ivitees to the NT(the one that matters) looks refreshing already. And from the last decade all new coaches started slow. I couldn't care less until I see the final roster for the WC and the final result.

New faces on the list are good. But if they actually put some Mamin or Slepyshev on the WC roster, that's where I will start asking questions.

Losses in meaningles friendlies are for the coaches, not for us. They need to look at the arriving players. That's all.

The U18 is a different story. People responsible for the Denisenko situation should take their hats... yesterday please.
