The Royals held a press conference today to announce several staff changes. Ray Melcher who was brought in as interim GM back in April has been named COO for both Reading and Allen as well as GM of Reading. Doug Yingst will be a special consultant for hockey operations for Reading only. There is also a new CFO who will be working with both the Royals and Americans, and the Royals director of merchandising, Gregg Lewis, will be assisting in Allen as well. Several moves in the ticketing department, new director of community involvement (aka mascot supervisor and social media person) as well as a new game night person. They previously announced Kirk MacDonald as head coach and Pat Wellar as asst coach.

Yingst is obviously the big news. He was GM of the Hershey Bears for many years, won 5 Calder cups there, and had great success. Retired last year, but the Royals managed to talk him out of retirement to act as a "co-GM". Melcher will mainly handle business operations and Yingst will handle hockey ops. One of the top all time GM's in minor league hockey. :handclap:
