Could be a solid two-way guy eventually. Time to draft more skill though, take a chance on a kid.

    Vorobyov, Mikhail LC – Tolpar (MHL) – 6’2” 194 HockeyProspect.com Ranking: 160

A regular feature on this season U18 Russian national team, Vorobyov is a two-way centerman that can be relied upon in all situations because of his complete game. Is a good faceoff man with legit size, he is consistently responsible and uses his strong hockey sense on both sides of the puck. His good defensive play sometimes takes away from the offensive opportunities he is given on his teams, but he can be an effective player in the offensive zone, using his linemates to create opportunities. He sees the ice well and uses his poise to make clever plays and execute good passes. He is a good stickhandler who can slow down the play with the puck on his stick.

Perhaps the best part of his game is how he is able to cycle the puck along the end boards, he constantly shifts away from the defenseman while protecting the puck. Mikhail is a sound skater, but lacks a change of speed and his agility is average. He needs to improve the aerobic aspects of his game. He possesses an accurate wrister, but to finish more of his chances he has to become quicker.

Seems like no one can find much about this guy, other than he was the 24 ranked european skater, and played in U-18's. This thread is already one of the top searches.

One thing I found about Vorobyov is that he played on the top line with Denis Guryanov in the U18s, posting 4 points in 5 games.

Goes to show that the Flyers REALLY take the U18s seriously.

We hopefully got the American Suter at #7, and maybe the Russian Couturier in the 4th.

Import draft is tomorrow. Wonder if he has any intentions of crossing the pond.

Flyers had him ranked as a 2nd round talent according to McKeen's interview. The Flyers dont see a huge difference between him and Eriksson Ek.

    From Bill Meltzer:

Flyers 2015 fourth-round pick Mikhail Vorobyov enjoyed a dominating performance for Tolpar Ufa in the 2015-16 regular season opener for the MHL (Russian Junior Hockey League) club on Saturday. Vorobyov racked up three assists -- two even strength and one power play -- in a 6-0 win for the junior affiliate of KHL club Salavat Yulaev Ufa against Snezhnye Barsy (Barys Astana feeder team). Vorobyov went 6-for-12 on faceoffs and had two shots on goal.

Great start. Here's hope for more.

He could be one of the late round gems this team will need to be a serious cup contender for years to come.
