Series Discussion: Round 2 (Caps vs Penguins) 2016 Playoffs (Pens fans, read note in OP)

A reminder of our local rules:

I'm not certain how far anyone is from starting and I don't much care. Pittsburgh has three goalies who suck. We're going to score at will and punch their best players in the nose repeatedly.

I was more worried about Philly than I am Pittsburgh.

Caps in six. I look for Wilson to destroy a few Pens. Winnik, Richards, Oshie and Kuz have a big series with GWG. Prepare to mute your television.

Pens are really open in terms of their style of play, lob passes over the D, etc. We have a way better the defense than NYR do (holy crap what happened to them)

Our offense will be key here

Other than that I think it should be a good series.

They'll score when they need to. Ovi, Backstrom and Holtby got it done in round 1. Someone will step up next. I strongly suspect we'll see vintage Ovie because of goaltending and the matchup.

We need to do something with the second line, burakovsky can't create anything offensively. I really like the way winnik,wilson,beagle are playing.

You're in for a rude awakening if you think Murray is a bad goalie

Take away their speed and this is over quickly. Goalies and the defense are a huge mismatch on the Caps favor.

Wilson and the other physical guys are going to have a field day against the Penguins.

I think this should be the best series of the playoffs. The Pens will win if they continue to shut down Ovi like they did in the regular season and if the Capitals continue to struggle to produce at ES like they did against the Flyers. The Capitals win if they can slow down the Pens transition game and rattle Murray. It should be a great series.

I don't really know what to expect in this series. If Kuznetsov wakes up, we can definitely beat them. I have to think we'll put up a better fight than the Rangers did.

Caps in 6....I gotta believe the offense that the Pens generated against the Rags will not be there....and conversely....I gotta believe Knuts, Williams and Bura start scoring. But I could be proven wrong. GO CAPS!

I hope we win, but I am simply speaking not optimistic. We are currently a one-line team. Our second line has been utterly useless.

The Caps have an excellent PK, I don't think special teams will impact this series that much. I think it's largely dependent on how much each team can produce at ES, neither team is going to be able to abuse the other on special teams like they did in the 1st round.

Also popping in here to say hello, and good luck. Hopefully it's a clean series, and let's be honest, the winner of this one is going to move right along by the atlantic division to the Stanley Cup Final.
