Some posts to get us started:

I put this in the Petan thread:

I know we won't start with this but at some point in season maybe:
ESL
Petan little wheeler
Connor copp/roslo Perreault
MLA

That gives us nice balance I think and Petan would do well feeding those two vets.

Anyone else like that third line? I really want to see Connor with Perreault, they would do very well with easier match ups.

I'd like to see our top line against the opponent's top line. They need to keep the puck, cause the opponent to make mistakes, draw penalties, have them play on their own zone. They need to be able to score against the opponent's top line and just frustrate them.

Second and third lines needs to be fast and scoring with a veteran presence.

Forth line needs to be total shut down.

Having said that, I would like to see this in the beginning of the year.

Copp schefeile wheeler
Ehlers little laine
Perrault petan Connor
Armia Lowry mattias

Dano tanev

Trouba morrissey
Byfuglien Enstrom
Myers Kulikov

Dano and Copp can compete for the position and alternate every few games. Little, Laine, and Ehlers were great when they played together. Petan and Connor played well together and with Perrault, they would be a great third line.

Ehlers - Scheifele - Wheeler
Conner- Little - Laine
Perrault - Lowry - Armia
Matthias - Copp - Dano
Tanev

JoMo - Trouba
Kulikov - Buff
Enstrom - Myers
Chariot

Petan on the Moose instead of the PB

I just realised that for the first time ever, we don't have any 'bad' players on the roster (or at least starting). We've always had guys that have been universally disliked, like Thorburn, Stuart, Peluso, Tangradi, Wright, and so on. Now I don't think there's anyone that would get a majority of disliking. It's a good sign

I imagine Chiarot will become that guy (or already has), but he can at least play and likely won't be a regular in the lineup.

Chiarot and Tanev

Chariot at least is a serviceable number 6. Tanev though ..... shudder!

I remember when the jets would pick up players from waivers to be in the season opening line up. Is there a site where we can see who the starting line ups are for each start of the season?

With what we have now, it'd be great if Maurice kept the general idea he had from 2016 and went something along the lines of :

Ehlers Scheifele Laine
Connor Little Wheeler
Perreault Petan Dano
Copp Lowry Armia

Have the "third" line be a sheltered scoring line, have CLA be your shutdown line.

Frenchy and Dano can dig the puck out then play a skilled game with Petan. Or have Roslovic in that spot and Petan in the AHL. Whichever.

After following all of the lineup suggestions the past few months, I believe this would be our optimal lineup:

Mason
Hellebuyck

Morissey Byfuglien
Enstrom Trouba
Myers Kulikhov

Connor Scheifele Wheeler
Laine Little Ehlers
Perreault Copp Armia
Matthias Lowry Dano

*Byfuglien should be better with less ice time/more rest and an even better Morrisey
*Trouba should be very dominant and Enstrom will be stronger than most think
*Myers and Kulikhov should be solid
*Connor will be effective, and in a good spot with an even better Scheifs and solid Wheels.
*The Little line should be dominant
*The Copp line should be solid: Copp solid both ways/Armia a force offensively/Perreault solid
*The Lowry line solid: Dano effective.

*Roslovic will be very effective, but I believe Pomo will be preaching defense first and Copp/Lowry are better defensively at present. Our offense should be fine.

*Keys to success: 1. Better team defense.
2. Less time in the sin bin.
3. Better goaltending.
4. A stronger PP.
5. A healthy lineup.

I have the same except I'd swap copp and Perreault. My other third line option is Perreault Petan Dano

Lots of possibilities that make sense. We'll see some experiments. Laine with Ehlers, Laine with Perreault, Connor up and down etc.

In the end, I'm sure that our ideal lineup looks like this:

Guy - Scheifele - Guy
Guy - Little - Guy
Guy - Not Lowry - Guy
Not Tanev - Guy - Not Tanev

I'd be really happy with that.

These two points are bothering me... Copp is by no means "solid both ways" and Armia has shown a remarkable ability to snuff out any offense his line-mates have. Did you mean for these points to be switched??

So Tanev is in the top9 or 4th line C! Got it! - NHL coaches

Armia was setting up Lowry and Matthias left and right last season and they were lucky to hit the net...
Copp is defensively sound. Copp between Connor or MP and Armia might be interesting.

Tanev and Sgarbossa PB and Petan and Roslovic 1st line on the Moose.

Go with the young guns on the 1st line and watch them become the most dangerous trio in the NHL. If Connor is ready Little and Wheeler give him a real nice spot to succeed as the goal scorer he can be. MP adds offense to the 3rd while still strong defensively. And a steady 4th that can play 12 minutes a night and carry it's weight. Fringe guys in the PB and 2 future players still on ELC's getting big minutes in all situations on the farm and ready to plug in for injuries.

Swap Petan in for Dano, and Copp as the center over Perreault, I believe will be the starting lineup. And if not Petan, then Dano.

My hope is Petan takes a step this season and sets himself apart from the Tanevs and Danos of the team.
