Haha this video was crazy. He is one insane mofo. Funny video though, wish there was a goalie in the league like this, but agree there is no way in hell he'd last more than a couple games.

Ahahahahahaha! Chasing Rob Brown down at 5:48 is awesome, and says it all about Ron Hextall.

I must say I had a huge smile on my face throughout the whole video :yo:
I wish he had won a cup at least once in his career :(

I love this video. I've never seen it with the text before though.

Someone on the Flyers board said:

The best is a quote from Hextall in the 87 finals...

He makes a good save on Gretzky and Gretzky asks..."Who the hell are you?"

Hextall turns and looks at him and goes..."Who the hell are YOU!!!?"

I love that.

I would have loved to have seen him throw down vs. Roy, Billy Smith or Cloutier.

The only NHL goalie to have a band named after him (as far as I know)

Hextall was aweome. And the next time some twenty year old starts running off at the mouth about how bad goalies were in th 80's and how easy it was to score, I'll direct them to this video. Some amazing saves!!

The only minus is Zep getting butchered.

Before Brodeur, Hextall was my favorite goalie of all time

Stupid Rob Brown, the **** does he think he is?

They are trying to turn the league to European hockey. Before you know it you have the wide rinks, game misconduct penalties for fighting etc. = Boring.

a goalie like Hextall wouldn't even get to smell the ice of todays NHL and that is a dirty shame.

One of the most intense competitors ever. Before his serious groin problems he was the most athletic goalie I've ever seen, and he was over 6' tall. Also the first truly great stick handling goalie. He actually played better when he was mad, totally the opposite of most goalies. Loved to trash talk guys too. Really great guy off the ice, and yes, he still hates chris chelios. The crease belonged to hextall, protected by sherwood, you entered at your own risk. I idolized him growing up, which is why I was always a chippy goalie and fought alot.

Emery is alot more calm this year, guys don't crash the crease like the used to, and basically know they have to answer to pronger if they touch emery. Though I could see emery snap at some point, and he would destroy them, should be fun.

when did Hextall have is groin problems? I'm a huge Hextall fan but I was never able to watch him play

The most hated player in Capitals fans history. Its been, what, 2 decades and change since he donned a Flyers jersey and I'm still haunted by bitter, bitter memories of the guy.

His stats aren't great (close to 300 wins though) - think he should be in the hall? I would argue yes, based upon his innovation in playing style.

I want to say around 89 or so. I still remember seeing the x-ray of his testicles on the damned news at the dinner table - he was the Flyers marquee player at the time and his injury was a big deal.

He wasn't the same goalie after the injuries. He went from athletic to floppy. The whole butterfly revolution was taking place at that time and he became a hybrid goalie well into his NHL career, which is kind of remarkable when you think about it.

He's still my all-time favorite player, and yes, I was a goalie as a kid at street hockey purely because of Hexy.

Hextall alone is the reason why I played in net rather than skating forward. He gave me a different persepctive on how net minders should behave in net.

He took on all comers. How many goalies have you ever seen get into actual fights with forwards? Not many.

My favorite is the Capitals player that foolishly messes with Hextall as he's being escorted off of the ice, only to get a major beat down and end up turtling in complete fear for the madman he needlessly unleashed upon himself.

Hextall would be banned from the league today.

Even as a habs fan you had to marvel at his compete level , you gotta respect hextall but billy smith did it better longer and in the playoffs he kicked it up notches unseen.

I wouldnt want to stand in the blue in front of either of them, but forced to choose id take hextall. Hextall had the badass vibe about him, Billy smith was, at times, seemingly crazy.
