I found lots of great info here. The link was taken from another thread - To Graf or not to Graf.

I have the heels and toes shaved a little. Not sure what the exact term is for that though. I have a low stance. It helps my stride and mobility.

How much of a rocker do you use on your skates and why??
What do you guys consider to be the best Degree of rocker??

Thanks

Rockering or as we call it up here a Radiuscome in 3 basic styles. Neutral (a little of the front and back) Forward and defensive.
Essentialy it's how much blade is on the ice and how far much forward or backward the center line of teh blade it.

http://www.t-blade.com/prod_runn.php

As important as the radius is the hollow as this has as much if not more effect on your actually speed versus mobility.

the question to ask is
where do you play most of the time (F or D)?

do you value lateral movement (mobility ) over speed?
More blade more top end speed less mobility
less blade less speed more mobility.

The hollow is the same thing .. the larger the hollow usualy the more speed, cutting ability, but you need really strong legs to get your mobility as the skates "dig" into the ice more..
