Why on earth haven't we signed Metsa to an ELC or an NHL-level deal? It's mind-boggling to me. Sure seems like there's something there.

Especially since we don't exactly have a logjam at D down there prospect-wise. Johnson and Novikov are it, with Komarov joining them next year (and Johnson could be in Buffalo full-time then as well). Lindgren may not get a deal (and I'd take Metsa ahead of him anyways), Lyckasen definitely won't, Strbak is still a year or two away from going pro, the other D guys are longer shots (McCarthy, Keohane, Panocha)...and Metsa wouldn't be a full 3-year ELC either. It makes no sense to me.
