San Jose, California (AP) - It seems Gary Roberts has found a comfortable home this season on the San Jose Sharks second line, and may be looking to creep on the first line some time soon. The smooth skating left winger is enjoying a season that sees him around the top of the league in scoring with 6 goals and 7 assists for 13 points in 8 games, 2 points behind the leader. Coming into the season the top line of Sullivan, Elias and Forsberg was going to be looked upon for the lionshare of the scoring but it seems Roberts had his own ideas. "I feel 10 years younger and 20 years wiser out there" Roberts said before the contest versus the Bruins. Peter Forsberg has no problem with Roberts' recent production because it lessens the load on him, "If our team can produce a balanced scoring attack it will be hard for the competition to zero in on one line" said Forsberg. Roberts enjoyed producing a hat trick against the Tampa Lightning a few nights previously.

The team has enjoyed their 6-1-1 start but they know that the HFNHL season is a long one. "We aren't allowing ourselves to become complacent because of our quick start, we want to keep things rolling." said GM Astles.

The Sharks look to improve their conference leading record of 6-1-1 against the Thrashers in a couple days. Jason Bacashihua looks too see his first action of the season but no one in the organization is looking to confirm him as a starter that night.
