Robert Nilsson (the Isles prospect) will play for Fribourg Gotteron in the Swiss Elite League for the remainder of the season. Fribourg Gotteron is still fighting for a playoff spot. Because Robert Nilsson started playing in Switzerland (when his dad was here), he does not occupy a foreigner's spot.

That's a good career move for him if it means he'll get quality icetime. Look for him to develop a LOT offensively.

Nilsson scored his first goal, it was the 5-0 in the 11-0 win of
Fribourg over an inferior Basel.

BTW: Julien Sprunger who played for team Switzerland at the Viking
Cup this year had a goal and two assist.

It must be nice for Robert to play on the top line with Mikael Karlberg and Jukka Hentunen instead of the 4th line in Leksand. How good/bad is Basel anyway? :)

Basel is actualy the badest team in Switzerland. Nilsson didn't play with Karlberg in the same line. He plays in the 2nd or 3rd line. He has a Swiss licence, because Kent played for Kloten and he spent his junior days at Kloten.

Thanks for the info, I knew about the licence though. Has Robert said anything to the swiss media about his future plans? Next season?
