Great win overall since coming back from 3-1 is never easy.

Yeah we benefited from Miller on a few but the Devils continued to work hard and they were rewarded.

Cory let in a softy but after that he was extremely clutch late 2nd and 3rd.

Our D got burned for ill advised pinches on the first two against.
I think Trav was soft on one of the goals as well.

The Rico goal was after lousy passing on the PP but a tremendous high skill play by #14.

I won't roast Vats too much even though he got coned.

Now, to the good Devils stuff.

All 4 lines looked good overall.
Wood and PZ seem to be bonding.

We moved the puck very well.
We are a much tougher team to play with Palms in.

Hall was flying but looked a tad rusty with the puck.

Bratt showed us again that he can shoot with a sneaky and somewhat heavy snapper.

Got to like the gutsy and heavy game that Boyle, Coleman and Noesen play.

Couple days off for them to prepare for a huge division game vs the Rags.

I guess Staff comes out if Mojo is ready.

Hope Devils fans don't give in to temptation and sell their tickets.

You mean "heavy SLAPPER".

Though I'm sure Bratt can snap his fingers, too, with the best of them.

If Mojo is ready on Thursday, who comes out? Stafford, does Hayes still sit? are we going to finally waive/send to Bing Prout. Feel bad for the guy-needs to play somewhere!! Will we waive Hayes in the New Year?

We pretty much have to waive Prout. Who else do you waive after tonight? All the guys who don’t need waivers can’t come out. They all played too well.

Stafford is getting a ton of heat, but he honestly played a good game. Still he most likely is the odd forward out right now.

He does have a good slapper but his goal tonight was a snapper.

Aside from getting toasted on the Rico goal I thought Vats had a strong game.

I actually agree. I liked a lot of things Vats did tonight, his assist most of all.

I also don’t fault him too much on the goal against. He was clearly gassed after a really long PP shift. Hynes should have switched the units out sooner. They were begging to get burnt.

Agree, wish we could package another trade which includes Hayes as my worry too is that there are no D's in Bing for a call up. Would rather waive Hayes than Prout just in case.

The game might have been a sellout, depending on one's definition of a sellout, but there were a LOT of empty seats. Yes, this was early in the game, but there were plenty of empties even later on.

Smh. This was the largest audience to witness a game , period, both in person and around the globe.

now that the thread is derailed what is everyone’s opinion on ryan miller?
He's always been colossally overrated around the league. Still living off that 2009-2010 season and Olympic run. That was the only season of his NHL career where he had a .920 save percentage. I've always thought of him as just an above average goalie, never elite. He had that one great year and he was just average/above average or solid for the rest of it.

To his credit, he's aging a lot better than some other goalies. He's managed to be consistent still, rather than declining.

He seems like he could be a great backup/safety net. Better than Bernier, who has a history of choking and decided the fate of the series for Anaheim, as soon as Gibson was injured last year in the WCF.

I said early in the game that he was due for a bad night. He had like a .946 save percentage coming into this game. I don't think he had a very good game. The second Wood goal was hideous, and the Bratt goal was a great shot but I don't think that was a great goal either. He looked really shaky to start the 3rd period, a bunch of shots looked like they were about to go through him and he was just barely closing the pads down on a few of them. I don't know how anybody can say he was screened on goal 2. The screen looked like it didn't come past him until after the shot was already in the back of the net, unless you really think it was acceptable for him to be screened by one body that was 25 feet diagonally from him.

NHL holiday roster freeze begins at 11:59 PM tomorrow night. Too late to waive anyone I believe.
So then what happens? An IR to somebody who has a ''Nagging'' injury?

And I'm not worried about losing Pratt. I don't think he's getting picked up, or at least I'd take a wild bet that he isn't. Don't Brian Strait in Binghamton? I think we could call him up if we need to. We already have Lovejoy sitting as it is. And while I'm no Lovejoy fan, I've acknowledged that he's been alright when he's played this year, in a bottom pairing role that he's suited for. He's probably better than Prout, who isn't very good.

I'd rather lose Prout than Hayes or Stafford. We still have Lovejoy back there and Mueller should be back within a month and when that happens, someone else that's already in the lineup right now or Mueller will be sitting. So if we don't waive Prout now, we'll be waiving him later, barring a couple more injuries happening before that. He's been a healthy scratch for over 15 games now, so I think he's on his way out, either way.

Devils still the only team in the division with 10 road wins.

I still feel sad for them, over that Road Warriors 2000 gimmick with the stupid ''Future'' looking spikes. And the alcoholism stoyline where Hawk was thrown off the titan tron. One of the very few blemishes of the attitude era.

We had a pretty mediocre home record before this current homestand, so it’s good to take advantage and get 3 wins in a row. They’ve been mostly pretty good games too. The Kings game was our most dominant of the season and the Stars game was good for what the lineup was that night and all the injuries.

We are a very pediatrician 17th in the league in GA/GP which isn’t good, but honestly not awful.

We are a wonderful 9th in GF/GP though!!!!!
Not really to worried about the GA/GP scoring is up this year. A top 10 team defense is 2.79 GAA when in years prior usually 2.5 GAA would slot you in the top 10
