Instead of naming some prospects and asking for their NHL comparisons, I'm going to name some current NHLers and am interested in seeing who people think the most similar prospect is:

Chris Pronger
Brett Hull
Alexei Kovalev
Mike Ricci
Scott Gomez
Martin St. Louis
Brad Stuart

Feel free to add your own and let someone else come up with their comparable prospect.

Those are really good, except i disagree with the phaneuf comparison, i'd say stevens or jovo rather.

Wellwood to St. Louis, LOL. The only reason you say this is because they are small. St. Louis is a speedster to go along with his skill, neither of these guys have that speed. PM Bouchard seems to be a better comparison.

I don't know, PM Bouchard seems to be the same player as Saku Koivu IMO.

Wellwood or Locke would have to tie a rocket booster to their rear to get the speed St. Louis has. Size and skill-wise they are close, but neither skates near as well as St. Louis.

I'd compare both to Ribeiro more than anyone else.

Getzlaf has a better shot than Lindros? What?
Eric had the best backhand in the game, an incredibly hard and accurate slap shot and a hell of a snap shot. Getzlaf is similar in style only, couldn't hold Eric's jock.

By the way, I really agree with the Ricci-Richards comparison, but Richards may have a little more offensive upside.

Well , Getzlaf arsenal of shots is INCREDIBLE.He has a nice back hand , a quick wrist shot and a deadly SLAP SHOT.Remember the wjc's final ? :D I still think Getzlaf has a btter arsenal of shots but that's just me.

Yeah , both are great two-way forward.I like Richards , he's underrated imo.I saw him a lot this year.He has future captain written all over him. He's good at faceoffs and he's also a great passer.Agree , Richards offensive upside is UNDERRATED.He's also very smart.

I see Getzlaf more as a Jason Arnott type of player.
