i said it before and ill say it again, i dont get exactly why parise shoots up to a top 10 pick after having a year that was worse then the previous. yes, i agree, he was picked late and deserved to go earlier, but he has done NOTHING to prove that he should be more highly touted then the year before, when he was drafted.

If anything, the place he was picked in 2003 was when his stock was highest. he didn't exactly make himself any better this year.

Maybe I'm a homer, but how does Brown fall after playing in the NHL and winning a bronze medal at the Senior WC?

I guess lighting up junior (Getzlaf, Carter, Richards, Perry etc) is more of an accomplishment than playing in the NHL?

I don't understand how some of you don't even put Kostsitsyn in their list..other puts him in between 15 to 30..that is terrible. He should be top 10 , maybe 11th max.. and no way is Parise better then him

Behind Locke and Baranka?

What has he done so far besides getting very hot for a few WJC games? His size is average, and I am sure he is purely offensive player. Besides, it doesn't mean I am right, I could be wrong, and it doesn't mean he can't or won't be a vey good player

We've been over this before.

Look what Parise accomplished this season at UND and at the WJC. What did Kastitsyn accomplish this year?

Jeff Carter and Anthony Stewart are two guys that could easily play in the NHL, yet didn't because of being on a very deep team (Carter) or not being able to get a contract (Stewart). Sometimes making the NHL at 18 isn't a matter of being the better prospect but having the better opportunity. Certainly Jason Spezza not playing in the NHL at 18 isn't a strike against him, while PM Bouchard and Brent Burns are better because of it.

When it comes to prospects, it's not about what level you are at as much as how you are progressing at the level where you are playing. Dustin Brown scored 1 goal this year (not including international play)...that isn't a good thing for his development.

Also it should be noted Brown is an 84 birthday and already had three OHL seasons under his belt. Stewart, Getzlaf, Carter, Perry and Richards- none of them had that luxury.

I think you are right, for some reason I thought he had higher numbers this season, and on top of that he has been twice outscored by his linemate Bochenski, so I guess I should have bumped him down by 7 or 8 spots.

He scored 25 goals in 27 games in the 1st league.

He helped his team win the Belarus Championship

He helped the U-20 team win their champhionship and return to the WJC's next year

He helped the Belarus National team win their champhionship and return to the WC's next year.

But that's just some silly facts, he only had 1 point in the RSL playing on the 4th line, so I guess the season was a waste. ;)

What about Bruno Gervais? Nearly made the Islanders as a 6th Round draft pick

I did not see anywhere that he scored 25 goals in 27 games. Do you have a link for that?

Yo.u base your list on stats right? You should base your list on high end potential...Kast dosen't had a real chance to show what he can do in the RSL. He was playing on the same team/same line then Zherdev and Nikolai wasen't puting better number on the CSKA fourth line so he should easily be in the top 15..see top 10!

And don't forget that he was on fire on CSKA-2...25 goals in 27 games isen't nothing in that league.
