What the hell?

Or you could read any of number of decent scouting reports that name him as a good defenseman, very poititonally solid and very steady in the defensive zone.

I guess it's the 42nd unofficial rule of HFboards. D-man puts up points, d-man can't play D.

And anyone in this trhead that thinks he's puer offence or is just a PP specialist is full of ****, because they haven't seen him.

He's VERY mediocre on defense. It's NOT his game. He is a great offensive talent. He reminds me a lot of Tom Poti. Poti isn't the worst defender in the world, but he's nowhere near the best. Bobby is in the same boat. And if he turns out a career like Poti has he can be a very effective player (contrary to popular belief, Poti is actually a fairly solid player) in the NHL.

But to sit there and keep saying the kid is this extremely solid defensive player is almost just a lie. He's mediocre at it. No two ways around it.

With that said, I think that any team who picks him is getting a solid player.

the top 4 of 5 are Americans. The Americans have put out some impressive defensemen the last few years.

Have a nice array of Forwards coming through as well.

Another good draft for the state of Minnesota.

Erik Johnson - "...he is the best and most complete defense prospect to come along in the past 15 years."

HUH? i've had just about Phaneuf of THAT!

I think he has a different definition of prospect - he means pre-draft prospect. Phaneuf improved considerably after he was drafted.
