Much has been made about damage to the league with no season this year but what about the NHLPA?
If the season is cancelled there will be 475 players without contracts which to me will put an awful lot of strain on their unity when 2/3 of the members of the union don't have playing commitments.
Another offshoot is that it will create among the UFA portion of those players a flooded market which will favour the buyers i.e. owners.
