Rank these players for speed

haha @ everyone not giving crosby enough credit, now i love all the other players but some of you are slightly under rating crosby, this kid is lightning when he needs to be, i heard a quote somewhere, that the reason crosby doesnt look as fast coz he is always skating at half speed looking for his options and can slow the game down coz of this. when he gets a break though, he just explodes out, he has incredible leg strength

I think Kessel's speed at 19 is about the same as Gaborik's was at 19. ChrisD is right that its Gaborik's strength and explosiveness that makes him faster than Kessel. Give Kessel four years on a heavy weightlifting program and then we can compare. I think Kessel and 23 years old and Gaborik at 27 will be about the same.

Then again ... maybe we'll see them at the NHL All-Star Game in the not to distant future and we'll see who wins the fastest skater contest.
