Sabres fans are really cocky and arrogant it seems. Tell me what exactly has your franchise accomplished? Every star player you get or draft can’t wait to leave.
Well that settles it then.
Because you feel this way I am calling Jason Botterill and telling him to drive the Sabres franchise off the cliff.

LOL, and we sound arrogant? Get a grip......

Ok, I think we got the obvious answer for this “proposal”.

Any chance we close up shop on this one?

Oh and for future trade proposals... just leave Dahlin out of it if you want the thread to be seriously considered.

Kreider, Zibanejad, and a first might put you in contention for O'Reilly, adding the 26th and 28th doesn't get you Dahlin.

Not a fan of the OP, but the difference between Zibanejad and ROR isn’t freaking Kreider + 9th OA.

That’s just straight up nonsense.

I wouldn't give up Kreider, Zibanejad and a 1st for O'Reilly. That's AWFUL for the Rangers. That might put them in contention??? Right.

Stepan is a very similar player to O'Reilly and he got traded for less than that. The Rangers wouldn't deal for a player like O'Reilly anyway after moving Stepan.

Spot on. This is exactly what crossed my mind. Stepan and Raanta for the 7OA + ADA. ROR/Stepan are very comparable as far as age, production, contract and play.

Curious about what other fans think of this proposal

From NY Rangers
Kreider
Zibanejad
All 3 firsts this year (9,26,28)

From Buffalo Sabres
Ryan O’Reilly
This years #1 pick

You must think very very highly about Dahlin, you will be disappointed, nobody of sane mind will give you anything close to this.

Would you trade McDavid for that? Because that’s how Buffalo values Dahlin.

that is idiotic. Dahlin hasn't played a single NHL game yet, while McDavid already proven he is a super star player. Dahlin will not be even close to the player McDavid is. Might not be better than Ekblad could be worse than Chris Phillips.

Yes, how dare we value a franchise/generational prospect as though he might actually live up to his promise. Hell, you guys can have him for a 3rd. There's a chance the player we pick with the 3rd turns out better. Like a 1/5093058109834592091097239870138 chance, probably, but since we're already gambling anyway...

C'mon this is just silly. Maybe you might trade O'Reilly for Kreider Zibanejad but nobody is trading the number one pick in most draft years, not even for three picks in first round. Especially nor when two are 26, 28.

Any objective fan (forgot Sabres ones) would tell you that.

Just because a player is by default 1st overall in his draft year doesn't make him worth 3 1st rounders and a top line NHL player in his prime.

Just because a player plays on the top line and just because 3 picks are in the first round it doesn't mean they, together, are worth a highly rated 1OA pick.

We just traded a #1 Defenseman and captain with great Cap numbers McDonagh for much less, why would we want to trade away so much for like a 18 year-old version of what might turn into McDonagh? Stop kidding yourselves if you think Rangers would do this.

What do Rangers and Sabres fans think of Kreider + 26 for ROR?

no, I wouldn't do Kreider straight up. If we will move Kreider it would be for picks/prospects, not a lateral move. And why would we trade away one of the fastest skaters and one of our few physical players for another non hitting forward?

He looks good. Rangers are probably better off in keeping a guy like him vs trading him for picks unless for whatever reason he doesn't want to resign in one - two years.

yes, it would make little sense to trade him, maybe few years from now if he starts declining.

Great. He also could be better than Bobby Orr by the same logic. You don’t know what he’s going to be so why trade someone in a position you need the most AND a top line center that is flexible enough to play either wing for a bunch of lesser pieces?
