There's a new 'Que restaurant that opened in Cary a couple of months ago, City Barbecue. It's originally a Central Ohio chain than opened stores in Indiana and Kentucky, supposed to be a blend of NC/Texas/KC/and I guess Ohio BBQ. Have heard it's good and there are plans to open another one in the area.

:handclap::handclap: oh man I miss City BBQ. My wife just got back from Cbus and brought back 2 pounds. It is amazing! Now if you guys can get Graeters Ice Cream down here...
Will definitely have to hit up City BBQ in Cary before the next Jackets Canes game.

I had the same initial reaction, but it's not so much a "blend" of tastes, as just having a variety of options on the menu. If you want pulled pork, they have that. But they also have ribs, brisket, etc. and it's all pretty good. It's basically a slightly more upscale version of Dickey's.

And living in Cary... holy hell was this town under-served before City BBQ moved in. Looking at a map of local joints, Cary was like the donut hole.

You can look into the restaurant on google maps too. I think it used to be a pizzeria.

I like Danny's, though it's not an NC BBQ style place. Although with where it's at it might as well be considered Apex.

Coming down for opening night have a couple questions.

1. Has anyone used Uber in Raleigh? Recommend or should I just cab it from the airport to the arena area?

2. Is row K high enough off the surface to see the entire ice surface from the lower level, penalty box side?

I haven't used Uber specifically, but I've used Lyft a couple of times and would highly recommend it.

Might be the tiniest bit too low to get a clear view of the near side corners, but otherwise that should be a pretty good vantage point.

So i'll be at the game tomorrow. (i'm an Islander fan, posted on the last page of this thread)

How strict are they about hanging out in the lobby of the hotel? Any other tips for meeting the away team at a game?

Thanks!

I'm not sure how strict they are - there is a (not bad, small chain) Italian restaurant attached to the lobby of the hotel so you could have lunch there and keep an eye out. The more popular thing to do is to wait near the bus loading area (on the north end of the arena). It's my understanding that usually the visiting team can be pretty accommodating to their fans - not sure how close you can get to the bus loading area if anyone can comment on that more.

If anyone ('Canes fan or visiting fan) is rolling through Durham, check out Cosmic Cantina on Perry Street just off of Ninth. It's a hole in the wall but the Mexican food is unbelievable. Best I've ever had anywhere. I used to go there all the time when I was at Duke and still stop in whenever I'm in the Triangle. Inexpensive and an easy 20-minute drive to/from the arena.

Heyyyy there fellow Carolinians! Hope this thread is an okay place to ask this, didn't think I deserved my own thread...

So, I'm headed to the Sharks game this coming Sunday, and some of us were hoping to creep on the players for autographs after the game. (It's the one time they come here all year, gotta make the most of it!) I know at the Tank there's a spot where people gather and wait for the players to exit... is this a thing at PNC? If so, do you guys know where we should go?

Thanks!

Not triangle specific but a general NC question. I have an overnight layover in Charlotte at the airport Marriott. Looking for best place to grab some BBQ close by. Also wondering if theres any local tracks runing this Saturday night, 3/14. We wont have a car or anything. THanks in advance

In that area? I can't think of any BBQ joints. There are a couple of places you might be interested that are located in the airport although some of them are not specifically BBQ. Carolina Pit BBQ might be what you're looking for.

Tracks? I imagine there might be a few that are open but you're going to need a car to get to them regardless.

Can you guys please do a me a favor, whoever is familiar with PNC and goes to a lot of games....

Explain to me what "Row A" means. If I'm not mistaken it looks like Row A is actually the first three rows. Not necessarily THE first row on the glass. If I buy these tix in the secondary market, how am I supposed to know if I'm in rows 1, 2 or 3???

Please help. ty

Long shot but does anyone know a good soccer bar in Raleigh/Durham? Need somewhere to watch the game Sunday morning while I am in town.

Strong preference towards a Liverpool supporters club.
