QO'a -- whats the verdict

    so what is the verdict to my question about QO's and if the teams can pull the offer off the table and still retain rights to the player, like in the NHL.

    Based on your e-mail and link to the CBA, I'm inclined to say a team can pull their QO off the table. HOWEVER, that assumes the team did send an actual qualifying offer in the first place, specifically a one-year contract.

    For those who only sent a multi-year contract as the QO, they are required to either re-submit an appropriate QO (which may or may not be accepted by the player), or the player becomes a UFA.
