Chicago upgrades their goaltending, gets a young centre/winger with potential, and a 1st.
the downgrade from Toews to Galchenyuk is much larger than the ugprade from Crawford to Price

Honestly I think it's a bad deal for Montreal.
That 1st is going to be top 5ish and they give up the best player in the deal. Yes, Price's contract is bad, but so is Toews'.

Price has been elite since his first three seasons, how many goalies step into the league at his age? That definitely skewed his stats. He's a legend in the making.

The difference between Price and Crawford,Quick,Murray,Talbot,Vasilevskiy,Holtby,etc; is not as significant when trying to win a Cup as to the difference between Drouin/Plekanec and Crosby/Malkin/Backstrom/Kuznetsov/McDavid/Toews/Kopitar/Carter/Stamkos/Johnson; etc. etc.

Chicago will not trade Toews or Kane unless one of them requests a trade. They are the faces of the franchise that has been the most successful in the last 10 years aside from PITT but it's still close.
Price is not a huge upgrade over Crawford nor is Crawford a problem for them. Toews had a down year, Galchenyuk looks buried in MTL. Late first at this point in time for Chicago is pointless to downgrade this much. They need to hold on to whatever window they have left not become a middling team.

Besides Sv% is a better determination for how good a goalie is. What it clearly shows is throughout their careers Price has been on a worse defensive team than Crawford, even if the last 2 seasons shows Price has been on a better defensive team.

Although neither team does the trade, your reasoning is so flawed it's comical. Price never had the benefit of playing for a Stanley Cup team behind players the likes of Toews, Kane and Keith (to name a few).
