Not sure about that. Yes, he did put his arm out a little and earn the elbow call. It wasn't a wide from the body elbow and it was called on the ice for the major and automatic game misconduct.

The NHL is cracking down though on elbows to the head and even though the elbow hit the nose (i believe), he still had intentions to elbow Svechnikov and made the attempt.

Went on a four hour bouldering hike yesterday with my wife as a Valentine's date. Other than realizing him now too old (or too out of shape?) to do four hour bouldering hikes, also had absolutely no energy left to put into watching this game.

Sounds like I saved myself a real blood pressure spike.
