See what happens when college football adds a whole campus-sites round of playoffs? Winterized stadiums!
Prepare for a ton of rumors with State College, Columbus, etc. as potential outdoor sites, that are suddenly a lot more credible than in years past.
They tried this in the past. Doesn’t work. Stadium isn’t designed for a sheet of ice.

If they really wanted it to ever happen, they could do it themselves. Just wasn’t cost-effective, especially given a small market team. They didn’t have a problem doing it in Michigan, but that may be different since they had outdoor games before.
The Browns inquired about a neutral site NHL outdoor game about 10 years ago. That got shot down in about a half a second.
So will the RED Wings wear Blue and the BLUE Jackets wear Red?
If this is true it is about time Columbus plays outdoors. Entering next season they will be the last snow belt team yet to play outdoors.
