I am getting ready for a draft. I am an expansion team, and have narrowed the list to the following players. Rank the following forwards based on Offensive Potential by the 2007-2008 season

1 Scottie Upshall
2. Igor Grigorenko
3. Wojtek Wolski
4. Alexander Radulov
5. Valteri Filppula
6. Robert Nilsson
7. Roman Voloshenko
8. Lauri Tukonen
9. Andrei Kostsitsyn

As you can see this is how I have posted my rankings.

I have been a big fan of both Grigorenko and Upshall ever since WJC. Both were amazing and I am banking that both have put the worst behind them (injuries) and crack NHL line ups next year.

I have really been impressed with both Wolski and Radulov, I went with Wolski as I think Colorado has done a better job of bring players along offensively compared to Nashville. I look at the development of Tanguay, Hejduk, and Svatos compared to that of Legwand, Hartnell, Erat and Upshall.

Filpula ranks fifth as I feel he has played well at every level. He burst onto the scene at the WJC and has never looked back.

That is key as I think only 5 will be available to me.

Looking for help.

Thanks In advance

Sorry, there's no way Kostitsyn is even near the top of the list unless you're a homer Habs fan.

Grigs has a good chance of playing alongside one of Z or Dats and he could put up big numbers in what I believe will be he sophy year.

Well, next year, Kostitsyn should easily be on the team...don't know on which line, but it will be anywhere on the first 3 line. In Montreal, we should have 3 offensive line for many years to come so his offensive production will not be hurt...

And Kostitsyn is a hell of a passer...expect him to have more assists than goals. Kind of Kovalev this year. He always find a player on the ice and he has a deadly shot...Kostitsyn might not be first on the list, but he's in the first half...

But he's doing much better than Tukonen in the AHL points-wise. And is only one year older.

I wouldn't use this list if you are trying to win and get the most points, but... if you just happen to like the same guys I do and want that kind of team :D :

1) Radulov
2) Upshall
3) Tukonen
4) Voloshenko
5) Filppula
6) Grigorenko
7) Wolski
8) Kostitsyn
9) Nilsson

(4,5,6 are pretty interchangeable for me)
Good luck! (You'll need it, especially if you follow this list!)

Thanks, I had a hard time determining Nilsson...I think he could become a very very good player. I like your list as well, but I don't see Upshall outproducing Grigrenko or Kostitsyn or pretty much anyone on this list. I think he'll be, maybe, a 35-40 point guy on the third line with maybe 2nd line powerplay duties.

who knows though :)

People have Grigorenko listed at 6-9 on that list!? He's already a 30+ point per year guy in the RSL....he'll score 20+ goals in Detroit next year....alot more than Kostitsyn will
