    As there's no "history of hockey" forum here on this board anymore, I put this thread in here instead, it's mostly to give you all a pretty interesting link I found about the WHA vs international competition in the 70's, with interesting info and also some pictures. Personally I like this idea very much, and would like to see more international games like these (it doesn't have to be the NHL champions as mentioned in another thread), it can be any NHL team or for that matter teams from the new WHA or from the AHL or whatever, but international games are always interesting even if they're just exhibition games. And it's a very good way of promoting the game to other places too. Anyway, check this interesting site out. :)

    No offence to Jets fans, but the 76-77 Habs would have crushed the Jets. There was nothing for them to gain by playing the Jets.

    Maple leafs went to Europe last year and Played Jokerit Djugarden(sp?) and I thinkanother team.

    yeah, as a pre-season exhibition warm up games they played a few swedish teams and one finnish, i think.
